Wrong report for CAD /VPL Pin count Mismatches

Hello

Sometimes we are getting the wrong report as CAD /VPL pin count mismathes ,when we check visually there is no difference in CAD pad counts and Pin Counts ,Again we checked through VPL for any mismatches in pin configuration ,But we haven't seen any difference in VPL too ,Is there any idea to fix this issue in future ?

Hi Team

.wrl file from valor has the component physical diemension and its height e.t.c ,if we can get it through any one of the tool to understand the height and location of particular component,it will be more useful in fixture fabrication like ICT and Selective soldering fixture ,Does anybody have any idea to get the useful information using through any one of the CAD /CAM tool ?

"Missing hole " not reported Properly -vSure

In "pin to pad Analysis" ,not reported "missing hole" for the particular connector which is having pitch mismatch with drill layer ,and I tried many components with changing its position,but not reported the issue for all through hole components but reported only for the one particular component,But in another job it is reported the issue for all through hole components.

Is there is any idea why its not giving a consistent report from " missing hole" category ,As this is the very critical issue ,this need to be captured through valor tool.Also noticed in ERF comments as , this is for "Reports missing drill holes at pin locations ,If a pin fails this test ,then the test for the following categories are not reported..,pin width /pad width ,pin pitch /pad pitch ,edge to edge ,pin Dia vs Hole dia ,extra holes" .From the comment we can understand this is the known issue from valor ,please give the suggestion to overcome this issue

How to filter the different through hole component

Hi,

Does anybody have the idea to filter the square and rectangle pin through hole component in Valor -vSure . This is to set up the pad dia pin dia for different through hole components ,I meant through hole round type ,square type and rectangle type ..In real ,drill dia is varying related to pin shape ,this is not common for all different components.

The drill checks for the press fit connector

This is regarding the “pressfit connector” drill checks using pin to pad Analysis in valor vSure . For getting the real issue, we need to assign the different rule file for the press fit connector.

In our new board the press-fit connector is the square pin .So it is not getting the issue from “pin too large “ or “ pin too small category” . But I found some other option in drill checks

like “Small hole for square pin “ and “large hole for square pin “ .But valor could not be identified as this pin as square pin because in VPL there is no information for square pin mount in pin

assignments or its not identified this as the square pin from its dimension. I have attached the three different figure for understanding the real issue .

1. One is the my press fit connector and its drill in PCB ,pin is outside from the pad.

2. Second one is the VLM properties

3. Third one is the Valor option for square pin

Sencond time draw to layer will overwrite the first time drawed

Deall all,

I try to set up a component keep out layer,which i named drc_comp_lyr here.But i got some problem on it.

Firstly,I use the "draw to layer" command to draw one designated component from comp layer to drc_comp_lyr, then i repeat the action by drawing another component to drc_comp_lyr, but this time i found the drc_comp_lyr will be overwritten by the second action.Why does the overwrite happened? Or who can help me to get a fine method to draw the comp layer's feature to my drc_comp_lyr by repeat actions ,but the drc_comp_lyr not be written by second action.

How to avoid IC thermal pad's min toe error in pin2pad analysis

Hi,dear friends

Min toe is set to 12mil for IC package in pin2pad analysis of ERF,but there always report that the thermal pad got the incorrect toe size,as figure below,but actually the thermal pad's toe always not required as funcational pin's toe. Expect that who can help to fix the question, perhaps i should take some action to its VPL setting? or any other good suggestion?

Can we get the partnos of through hole components from the ODB file after merging the BOM .In supported BOM file having no specific package type ,the Supply chain management team asking for the list of through hole components.I got the selection for the whole through hole components after merging the BOM by using filter commmand,Is it possible to get the partnos for the selected through hole components? I would like to get the list of through hole components with part no,Appreciate for the quick answer..

We have been getting the .pcbdoc file from different Customers for manufacturing ..As we have the Manufacturing company we don't have the Design Tool for opening this ,But when importing this through the valor tool,it couldn't imported ..Does anybody have the idea to open this file through valor and or any othe viewer softare is available to open this..

Hello ,

Eventhough some test points are hided by component it will come the test point in percentage coverage ,Is there any method to block these hided test point while doing DFT Analysis in Valor -vSure.

Our ICT fixture fabricator says their tool will be automatically blocked the tespoint which is blocked with component.

Is there a difference between vSure / Trilogy / Enterprise / vPlan with regards to Design for Assembly checks?

This is a common question out in the marketplace that I am frequently asked when engaging with existing customers and new prospects.

Without filling pages of background, the simple answer is NO.

All of these tools offer similar DFx Assembly checks. Though existing customers can continue to utilize the legacy Trilogy and Enterprise platforms, DFx is sold today in the vSure and vPlan platforms. Similar capability is available in both and your account manager can provide feedback as to which platform would be best suited for your use based on your needs.
