RefDes Suffix Problem

We have a "big" issue with refdes renumbering.

In our process, the last action before send files to substractor is refdes renumbering. We renumber the refdes with the expedition tool and the renumbering is in function of location of parts and we add a suffix indicating the side of the component (T = Top side, B = Bottom Side). This is examples of our RefDes : CN1T, C4B,C4T,... . After renumbering we make a backward annotation to dxDesigner. That works fine.

But when we want to do a modification in our design (add components, delete components,...) there are some mistakes...

We cannot renumbered as we want. The packager renumber our updated design with new RefDes, "RefDes_Renumbering" show you an exemple.

C1,C2,C3 are the newest capacitors. We want to renumber all the design with new refdes depending of location. But the tools doesn't allow us to do that. He can't renumbered refdes with suffix. He gives us this result : CN1T1T, C1T,C1T1T,... See "Result.jpg".

How can we reset RefDes Value ?

At this moment, we renumber manually all refdes by hand !!

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks in advance,

Re: RefDes Suffix Problem

Have you requested support help on this?  If so do they have your database so that your issue can be replicated?

Where is renumbering taking place?  Expedition or is Packager creating the incorrect Ref Designator?
