Schematic reuse: save hierarchical symbols and sheets?

Does anyone have good experience using hierarchical symbols from a reuse point of view? Seems to me that this feature would be very useful to quickly reproduce blocks of a schematic that have been previously tested. The issue that I see is that there is no centralized way to retrieve the blocks unless they are all stored in a common schematic someplace. In this case then you can copy and paste between schematics but that would be less than ideal.

It would be nice to have the option to select a hierarchical symbol or section of schematic to insert into a design similar to a component. There is ample room for improvement to the Add part from library dialog....

PADS Logic has very poor hierarchical design support.  That is the only place that OrCAD schematic of old really surpassed PADS by a great margin.  So in one word, No.

Maybe DxD is better?  Others can chime in there.

Using DxDesigner with the PADS flow you can simply select a block in the original design, and paste the block into your new design. When pasted, the upper level symbol is also added into your local symbol library to the place in the schematic.

It's very simple.
