Could Mentor distribute the displaced workers resumes to Mentor tool user companies?

 

I hope that this is not against the rules! If not, this information would be helpful. If yes, then I am sorry and do not answer or let me know that it is not allowed.

Targeted for Mentor representatives.

Since PCB layout design is a niche market and Mentor toolsets even more narrowing market, it is difficult to search out companies that use these tools.

Could Mentor distribute the displaced workers resumes to appropriate companies HR managers and PCB layout group managers/supervisors?

And/or could Mentor post a list of Mentor user companies by toolset usage, so we could do our research on those companies?

Could you please post what company you are with and what toolset you use?

Are any of you aware of Board Station positions anywhere? Both direct and contract.

Are any of you aware of Expedition positions anywhere? Both direct and contract.

Is anyone aware of a possible position opening up due to someone retiring or leaving in the near future?

I don't work for Mentor Graphics but I would imagine that they wouldn't want to pass on details about their customers for a couple of reasons:

 

  1. It may cause problems with their customers if they are unhappy about this infomration being distributed.
  2. It would highlight to competitors which companies are using each of Mentors products.

 

What they may consider is including a section in the regular Mentor newsletter sent out to customers highlighting the Displaced Worker Program on the Community forum with something like the following:

* Find Engineers skilled in using xxxxxx *                    

 

In this challenging economy Mentor Graphics is taking a leading role to help the EDA community return to work.  In order to facilitate displaced workers becoming employed, we've re-launched our Displaced Worker program to offer educational and networking tools for EDA workers looking for work.

And I want to especially thank you, Val, for posting your resume on the jobs wanted sub-community.

 

I’m sorry we can’t post a list of customers who purchased a certain tool.  However we are very interested in leveraging the Mentor Communities to provide job-seekers with a place to network and meet potential employers.

 

 

 

Here are a few other ideas I recommend to get the most from the Mentor Communities and our Displaced Worker Program.

 

  1. Post your resume on the “jobs wanted” community. (Val has done this already.)
  2. Complete your profile and Bio on the Mentor Community.   All of this information is indexed byGoogle and should give you extra visibility.
  3. Checkout the recorded video on Making the Most of your Job Search, courtesy of Mentor Graphics staffing team.

 

 

If anyone has other recommendations, please post them on this thread.  Likewise, if I locate other suggestions, I will certainly add them.

Hi Christine,

 

I would have posted my resume but I am still lucky enough to have a job...I know there are many good people out there that are not in the fortunate situation I am.
