How to switch between SDD Flow releases when they are installed to different target locations

Version 2

The recommended approach is to always install System Design Division (SDD) Flow releases* into the same target location (by default C:\MentorGraphics). By doing so the only step to switch releases is to run the "MGC SDD Configurator" from the Start Menu ("Mentor Graphics SDD" folder).

In cases where SDD Flow releases are installed to different installation targets, there is an additional step required to successfully switch releases. Follow the instructions below.

Procedure for switching between SDD Flow releases in different target locations:

The following sample data will be used to demonstrate the switching procedure with the PADS Flow. Adjust the Flow releases and target locations as necessary.

    • PADS 9.3.1 is installed to "C:\Program Files\Mentor Graphics"
    • PADS 9.4.1 is installed to "C:\MentorGraphics" (recommended location)

Switching from PADS 9.4.1 to PADS 9.3.1

Run the following commands from the command prompt window (cmd.exe) or the Start>Run area:

    • "C:\MentorGraphics\win32\configurator.exe" -clean
    • "C:\Program Files\Mentor Graphics\win32\configurator.exe"

Switching from PADS 9.3.1 to PADS 9.4.1

Run the following commands from the command prompt window (cmd.exe) or the Start>Run area:

    • "C:\Program Files\Mentor Graphics\win32\configurator.exe" -clean
    • "C:\MentorGraphics\win32\configurator.exe"

Note: The double-quotes are only necessary if you are using a target location that contains spaces
