Detailed Installation procedure for Tanner tools (Sentinel)

Version 4

This procedure is only for installation of legacy Sentinel versions of Tanner tools.  If you are running more recent FlexNet versions or if you received a TXT license file rather than a TLU license file, this installation procedure does not apply.

The registered user of the product will receive an email from Mentor Graphics with an attachment that contains the required product license (.TLU file). Every purchase and product update will receive this email. Perform the following steps to install the license:

    Local licensing:

Setup of local licensing requires the following items, provided by Mentor Graphics:

    • Hardware lock. This is a small device, similar to a flash drive that attaches to either the USB port on your computer.
    • Tanner License Update file (.TLU extension). This file should have been sent to you or Mentor Graphics' main contact in your company as an e-mail attachment.
    • A DVD [optional] of Tanner Tools or a downloaded zipped file of the software.

Note: If you do not have these items and you want to use local licensing, please technical support by submitting a SR to request what you are missing.

Once you have all of the items above, continue with the following steps.

    1. If you have the DVD, insert the DVD into your computer and the installer will auto start. If you have the zipped file, please unzip it to a temporary directory on your hard drive. It is important that you must fully unzip it first before running the installation. Otherwise, it will not work.
    2. Right-click on the setup.exe and choose "Run as admin".
    3. Once the installation is finished, double-click on the .TLU license file that was sent to you to install the licenses.
