We are currently using VeSys, but are pushing some of the technical capabilities of the tool. Is there a way to migrate my library from VeSys to CHS?
Note that this thread is in the VeSys Classic community, but Michael Rost's question specifically mentions VeSys 2.0, which I don't think is what the original post was about. If Michael is indeed asking about VeSys 2.0 we should emphasize that it couldn't be easier to migrate as it shares the same code base, database and data model with Capital.
We are currently developing new migration tools that would allow you to get your library data into CHS. Please watch this space for news on availability,
In what area are you reaching the limits of the tool?
If you are looking to migrate to CHS you will need to migrate more than the library although that is the likley starting point, VeSys Harness exports a DSI which Capital Harness XC should be able to read (excluding any 2D graphics) that just leaves you with VeSys Design (assuming you have these).
I've been using VeSys a long time and worked with many companies that have been using VeSys successfully and so I'm really interested in the area you are pushing the technical capabilities of the tool. Mentor Graphics have just released VeSys 2.0 which addresses some of the issues with collaborative working that the original VeSys had, if you are a current VeSys user and you have a valid support contract you will be able to download and evaluate it.
Do we now have a tool which migrates Designs and Library from Vesys 2.0 to Capital?
Yes we do have tools that can perform the migration, take a look at the Academy - there you will find a test drive describing the migration (for Components, Schematics Designs and Harness Designs).
