I have multiple Symbols and one Cell. I need to compose a Part in Library Manager. Which document describe pin mapping, slot, and gate when creating new Part.
What is the difference between slot and gate. If there are four OpAmps in one IC means that there are four symbols and one cell for that IC than how what number should I put in slots and gate to make a part ?
You need to undestand what is HETERO TYPE COMPONENT
Assume you are using Expedition (as I believe PADS is different)
We have (for example) an opamp set up with two gates within the library
Gate 1 = power pins (GND/VCC)
Gate 2 = Logic pins (IN+ IN- and Out)
The power "gate" has 1 slot which has pins 4 and 8 in it
The logic "gate" has 2 slots in it pins 3,2 and 1 and pins 5,6 and 7 - as there are two op amps within the package.
Attached is a picture which may also help explain.
Thanks. I also have another package which has five symbols where each symbol is different and in the IC and there is no duplicate in the IC means that every symbol is present in the IC just one time. In this case how I need to add these symbols ? It ask me number of slots for every new symbol added. Should I use number of slot to 1 for every symbol ? I guess they will appear as five gates, right ?
