    Auto Merge Circuits after Ctrl+Shift+V

    htran1

      Hello,

I have copied a couple of large drawings via Ctrl+Shift+V from one design into another.  In the orginal design, there are some crossed reference circuits, but in the copy, all the links are broken, but the circuit names are identical.  Is there a better process then right click and "Merge Into" to re-link the each circuit?

Or is there a better way to copy one design into another and maintain the links?

      Please advise and Thank You.

          Hi,

Using "Merge Into" is the only way to correct what you have (to merge in several pasted circuits).  Have you tried the "Design Copy" action in VeSys 2.0 Design (selecting the design in the project browser, with all diagrams closed, there is a context action to "Copy..." or "Export Design..." if you want to then import it into another project).

          Thanks,

Can you tell me the difference between coping and exporting the design from one project into another?

When copying a VeSys 2.0 Design you can "retain generated names", unchecking this will create new names for devices & wires (e.g. DEV1 will become DEV100 etc).

When exporting you don't get this choice, but you can use the XML as a backup (for vaulting) or to coping into another system.

When you want to copy a VeSys 2.0 Harness design you need to use the "Export Design..." feature.

              Thanks,
