Yes. Use the select command (i.e. S U45 <enter>) and then press the spacebar.
Thanks for your reply.i need to highlight one by one (in this case if select new refdes existing highlight thing is dehigh lighting ) is it possible to high light component with color ??
Have you tried it? That is it what this sequence does in 9.3; I believe the same thing worked in 2005.
S R1<enter> <space> - R1 is highlighted
S R2 <enter> <space> - R1 is unhighlighted and R2 is highlighted
You can set the highlight color under <setup><Display colors>.
Look through the list under <help><Modeless commands>. I just did and see that SS R1 searches and selects the component in one command instead of two (this might be a 9.3 feature only). It looks like Mentor is adding more modeless commands in every version.
For initial placement of parts I like to use crossprobing between the schematic and layout. Select a part in the schematic and it is highlighted in layout. Works for a group of part also!
If you can't use crossprobing, try selecting a group of parts, eg " SS R1* "
then right click and select move sequential.
SS (Search Select) shortcut works in PADS 2005.
Mentor does not provide "Highlight Component/Assign Coloer" functions, what a stupid tool
You guys are mentioning about "Selection temporary highlight" and its will be disappeared when you complete command , not assign color to any objects you want.
