How to switch between lumped and distributed extraction depending on position in layout?

Hello everyone.

I am using xrc to do flat extraction of a reasonably small layout. It works well, but if I do full '-rcc' distributed/coupled RC extraction, the resulting netlist is large and the memory consumption of xrc is also quite large. If I do simple lumped '-c' extraction the netlist is more reasonable and xrc doesn't use so much memory, which is great.

I know that with 'PEX INCLUDE DISTRIBUTED' I could limit distributed RC extraction to only certain nets. What I'd like to do, though, is extract the whole layout with '-c' except for a certain important region that I want to extract as '-rcc'. I'd like to specify this region just as a simple rectangle in the layout, not as a large list of nets. (I'd also be happy if I could specify it as a GDS cell, since the important region is its own GDS block.)

Is there any way to do this? ?:|
