Actually this should be possible. Did the connector without the part number have cavity names that matched the library part? Also, in the "merge into" dialog was there a tool tip (when you hovered over the greyed out target) to say why it wasn't suitable.
Even with no pins assigned i get the same result. connector 9435 has no part or pins and I would like to merge it into J/PM900. J/PM900 is greyed out.. where the vend ones are not , they also do not have a part number assigned.
The previous case yes they were both numbered connectors. Yes the part is setup correctly and allows 102 pins.
If I remove the part number from j/PM900 i can merge just fine.
Is there a tooltip on the grey row? I am able to do this - perhaps if you raise an SR# someone from SupportNet could comment.
No there is no tooltips that popup at all.
OK - I am not sure why you don't get the tool tip (you should - see below). I think the solution is for you to assign the same part number before trying to merge it with the target.
