It seems that only one of us can accesss DxDatabook libraries at a time. I configured DxDatabook to use Excel spreadsheets as data sources via ODBC. It does work so long as only one user is runing DxDes with DxDatabook. I have checked that the spreadsheets are being used 'read-only' by the ODBC layer. I don't see any 'lock' files in the directory where the spreadsheets live. That location is a windows network share, if that is relevant. We are all using the same up to date PADs/DxD install on Win 7.
Right now I'm out of ideas, Does anyone have any ideas of the likely cause?
If I haven't mentioned anything wehich would be useful to help diagnose, just ask me.
All the best,
Make sure the container holding the database has write permissions, not the actual database files. TechNote mg26579 details why with an Access database, I believe the concept is the same for an Excel database.
