The license file has to be regenerated with the new MAC ID, for that you need to sign a form which you can get it from a local distributor
You can better open a service request from supportnet
Could you tell me how to create a service request in Support Net?
Thanks for your help.
I have now access to the MGC license files.
The next problem is that the license server is a Unix (Solaris) server.
We want to replace the unix system by a windows server operating system.
Now i tried this using a virtual box on a windows FlexLM License host.
There i get the error that the hostID is not the same, but i'm using the same MAC address as the linux server uses.
Is it not possible to change from linux to windows with the same license file?
I tried it another time and it works for our normal licenses.
The problem is that we also have 40 educational licenses. There is no MAC address in the server line... Instead the following lines:
SERVER put_server_name_here 83298F88 1717
DAEMON mgcld path_to_mgcld
So can you tell me how this works?
I used the same MAC address as it is in the now running server and the LMtools tells me that the hostid is not correct.
83298F88 is the MAC ID as in the SERVER put_server_name_here 83298F88 1717
but i am afraid its not because MAC ID contains 12 characters,
you can get help from your local distributor for setting up the licenses or you can raise a Service Request in the supportnet
