Hello!
I am on PADS Layout, v9.2. I have the need to change the global thermal width on some of the component pads in my current layout. I see that in Pad Stacks, I can change not only the width, but the number of spokes as well. However, after making the change in Pad Stacks and re-pouring the copper, I wind up with the same siz and number of spokes that I have defined in the global thermals setting. What am I missing?
Many thanks,
Lou
A little more info: This is a two-layer board. Global thermal width is set to 35 mils, and all pads conencted to planes are following this rule. Copper is done with Copper Pour, not Plane Area. I've selected one component, click on Pad Stack, and I have increased the thermal width to 40 mils and the number of spokes from 4 to 6. I have done this for the top layer pad, the bottem layer pad, AND the inner layer pad (even though this is only a two layer design). It looks correct in the preview field of the Pad Stack dialog box.... I click okay and then pour the copper.... and what I get is four, 35 mil spokes (following the global rule).
