The community site is intended to address questions pertaining to existing product releases.
To submit enhancement requests Mentor has a specific IDEAs website for this.
The IDEAs site enables you to request enhancements and let others vote on your request. The site provides Mentor a means to measure of our customers' needs.
We periodically review the IDEA sites and use it as a discuss means with users as well. You will then find that when an IDEA is progressing the status will change. For Valor NPI IDEAs are also referenced in the Release Highlights.
Can I request of you to visit ths link below and add this request in the proper channel?
On the site you can also see what is planned for in upcoming releases by using the IDEA filter.
I have posted this idea before posting it on the communitity where I think there are many audiences here. I seldom ask question here except I could found
solutin by myself or seeking online documentation. Also I have visted the idea site to post ideas although the site is very slow(for example, you may take
10 minutes to finish a post)
As product marketing manager for Valor NPI, I view the IDEAs site as my go to source for customer related input on enhancements. Content typically found on communities is not a source that I regularly review for consideration.
You can continue to post enhancement requests here as I am not asking you to stop, but the enhancements ideas here will not get the review that the items coming through the IDEAs site will. The reason is there is no method for me to measure the customer need on communities as there is through IDEA.
My suggestion is that you give the IDEAs site a chance in order for your requests to get further consideration. Others certainly have and in return have seen their enhancements become available in Valor NPI.
The choice is yours to consider.
Unstood. By the way, I post a question I am in the middle of process. VNPI.exe get crashed on Windows Server 2012 Build 9200 while importing gerber files(105 files) into a job where eda step is there. It can be repeated on tthe data. here is the system error log:
OS 版本: 6.2.9126.96.36.199.400.8
区域设置 ID: 2052
其他信息 1: 5861
其他信息 2: 5861822e1919d7c014bbb064c64908b2
其他信息 3: dac6
其他信息 4: dac6c2650fa14dd558bd9f448e23afd1
This log really does not provide the background required as this is a MS error reported against a DLL.
Chances are there is a file that is causing the problem and you need to locate that one or more.
I understand you are ending in a crash, therefore finding the log file is hard to do.
You could attempt to translate the 105 files one half at a time in multiple steps to see if you can find the troubled file(s).
Start Valor NPI with the console up to see what file the error is occurring. Setting the VALOR_ENV=1 in the env_file will achieve this.
Or open an SR and provide the data samples to see what the problem is. Customer Service would then take one of the two approaches to help you out.
Hope this was at least a bit helpful.
understood. all gerber files is ok and it can be imported to a job as cam step where no eda step there. Also it's ok that you first import gerber files into a job as cam step then import eda data into the job as eda step, but it will get repeatly crashed if you first import eda data then gerber files. However, there are some times i can succefully import eda data first then gerber files.
We have found the cause. It's the limitation or bug and that symptom can be verified on Windows 7 X 64 and Windows Server 2012 and It not related to the data. Also I have found a workround (but efficency get sacrificed a little) to deal with this situation. We used to use script to automatially import data and run DFx checks and foud this never-seen symtom and We invested 24 hours to check our script and data etc, finnally approached it.
