How to remove ohms from resistor value in DxDesigner

    joseph.lindula

Hello, can some give me a hand in removing the "ohms" from the resistor value within DxDesigner?

      Thanks,

      joe

Find/Replace *ohms with *,look in component.

The other thing to try is the units display setting.

This is located within Library Manager --> Setup --> Units Display....

Then in the Electical Units display if you set this to the European option the values of the resistors on the schematic will be displayed as 120R or 120k and not 120Ohms or 120KOhms.

If you are running the DxD/Expedition environment, then edit the files:

              C:\MentorGraphics\XXXX\SDD_HOME\standard\config\pcb\VBUnits.hkp

              C:\MentorGraphics\XXXX\SDD_HOME\standard\config\pcb\VBUnits2002.hkp

Edit the .RESISTANCE_MEASURE section so that the ….DISPLAY “” to ….DISPLAY “ “ or to look like the following.  The .SI may have to be replaced with the type of units that you have assigned to your system.

              ..SI

              ...UNIT "micro"

              ....DISPLAY "µOHM"

              ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

              ....EXPONENT_VALUE -6

              ...UNIT "milli"

              ....DISPLAY "mOHM"

              ....CASE_SENSITIVE YES

              ....EXPONENT_VALUE -3

              ...UNIT "none"

              ....DISPLAY " "

              ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

              ....EXPONENT_VALUE 0

              ...UNIT "kilo"

              ....DISPLAY "K"

              ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

              ....EXPONENT_VALUE 3

              ...UNIT "mega"

              ....DISPLAY "M"

              ....CASE_SENSITIVE YES

              ....EXPONENT_VALUE 6

Thank you so much. That did the trick! Can you also help me fix it so that all capacitor values are in micro and not nano or pico?

Edit the same files as the resistor valu marking and find the  .CAPACITANCE_MEASURE section.

Notice that in my ..SI section that I have left out the ...UNIT "nano" for the ....EXPONENT_VALUE -9.  This means the no nano "n" is added to the suffix of the capacitor.  Historically a MIL document would only have pico "p" markings on the suffix. So this kind of thing has been done before.

                  ..SI

                  ...UNIT "atto"

                  ....DISPLAY "a"

                  ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

                  ....EXPONENT_VALUE -18

                  ...UNIT "pico"

                  ....DISPLAY "p"

                  ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

                  ....EXPONENT_VALUE -12

                  ...UNIT "micro"

                  ....DISPLAY "µ"

                  ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

                  ....EXPONENT_VALUE -6

                  ...UNIT "milli"

                  ....DISPLAY "m"

                  ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

                  ....EXPONENT_VALUE -3

                  ...UNIT "none"

                  ....DISPLAY ""

                  ....CASE_SENSITIVE NO

                  ....EXPONENT_VALUE 0
