We are using DxDesigner pads flow. The symbol editor 7.9.4 will not correctly open the attached symbol.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is not working correctly?
Thanks for your help.
Basically there were an two huge lines drawn in symbol editor. Making a zoom multiple times allowed to understand there were two parallel diagonal lines.
I exited and reenter the symbol editor and I click select (do not make an area select) and delete. I did twice. Once done I zoom fit and the symbol was fine.
I'm not sure they were actually lines, they may be different things like huge text or any other entity.
I saved it and compared with a text editorthe original file and the saved file (you can use pspad, notepad++, ultraedit) .
I noticed the main differences were a couple of groups of lines
a 391 -95 391 -94 391 -94
Q 11 0 0
|GRPHSTL 65535 0 0 3
a 446 -110 446 -109 446 -109
The internal ascii constructs are not documented, hence I'm not able to give you any information on what the construct "a" stands for.
Actually the good symbol is the same as your original with the above lines removed. Anyway if it happens again please use the test and trial method I described above (single select and delete).
I don't see there is any error in file, it's ok to import into Symbol editor.
I do not get an error message. When the symbol is opened in symbol editor I only see a continuous diagonal line.
There are not other graphics shown. Any idea why I can't see the graphics correctly.
Does this symbol show correctly in your symbol editor?
I don't have 7.9.4 on this machine but I think Viedraw symbol format not be changed. Try to
open the attachment
The symbol you created has the same problem opening in symbol editor as the original.
Thanks for the try. Not sure what the problem is as the symbol looks fine when loaded into DxD.
Can you create a new symbol (vs. a translated symbol)
Can you open any Mentor supplied symbol (anything in Preview or one of the Libraries in SDD_HOME)
If you get the same bad results with the above I would suspect something in the environment:
Find here the corrected symbol.
I removed the two huge diagonal lines.
They refer to line # 172,173,174 and 214,215,216 within the file.
Any chance you could repost your attached file in zip format rather than the 7z?
here it is.
Your MC34118_OK symbol works.
In case the problem comes up again what did you change to make this work?
Thanks to both of you for the help.
