In recent months we noticed significant performance degradation when using updated NVidia drivers on Linux.

We worked the problem with NVidia and they determined it to be caused by a change made to one of the default driver settings.

If you experience performance problems when using these newer drivers then please try to uncheck this checkbox:

System -> Preferences -> NVidia X Server Settings -> X Screen 0 -> OpenGL Settings -> Sync to VBlank

If you would not want to change this option globally then you should be able to get the same result by setting this environment variable before launching our products:

export __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=0

We hope this fixes the problem for you.
