Do I need an Advanced Interconnect licence to be able to create and use microvias in our designs?

Also does anyone know where there Mentor Help files are about how to create a microvia?

Using DxDesigner/Expedition 7.9.1. Flow with Library Manager.

          Greg,

For maunual routing you do not need the "Advanced Interconnect" license.  You need this license when you want to autoroute with microvia's.

microvia's are created with the padstak editor, in the same way as you define a 'normal' via, just smaller dimensions. You have to set up the design

that you are working on to allow blind/burried micro via's.

You can do this at 'Setup-->Setup Parameters' on the Via definition tab. If you want to allow 'Via In Pad' you also have to allow this for a selected pad at

          the 'Pad Entry' window.

          regards, Charles
