The problem in embedded objects is that they do not appear in Gerber output (and disappear if you do ascii export-import).
One solution is to open the bitmap in a graphics program (such as CorelDraw which I have used), run Trace (raster to vector conversion), and export to DXF using one of the oldest versions the Autocad rather than latest. The logo outline appears in Layout as a line object. You can then continue by scale etc. and save to Library (and from library to Logic).
Trace and old dxf combo works surprisingly well (no bsplines).
If the logo needs to be filled in Layout, it should be converted to copper (but copper cannot be grouped) like 2D.
