    Reverse engineering using Xpedition

    Rapport

So far any reverse engineering designs were done using CAM350 as a starting point. Is there any option in Xpedition for doing reverse engineering designs directly without CAM350 tool?

I don't know how you performed reverse engineering in CAM350, so I'm not sure if this is comparable. In Xpedition you can import a simple keyin netlist or EDIF netlist. Then you can import various vector graphics data like DXF or Gerber which creates polygons etc on graphics layers. Those elements can be move to the right electrical layer and get nets assigned. But what about components which connect the resulting copper objects? There pins should be in the netlist but the graphical properties like pads, pins and outlines needs to come from somewhere. Also vias will not get created that way and needs to get placed manually.
