How are the names of electrical nets defined and what does “^^^” mean?

Question asked by cathy_terwedow on Sep 6, 2017

An electrical net contains two or more physical nets. HyperLynx DRC inherits the name of one of the physical nets names by picking a name with alphabetical order. If no name was assigned by a designer, the net has a system-generated name starting with characters such as $ or NET. In Setup > Option > Default Values, those system default names can be defined and HyperLynx DRC will try to select those names for the electrical net names. A net name followed by ^^^ means an electrical net.
