Which wildcards does HyperLynx DRC use?

Question asked by cathy_terwedow on Sep 29, 2017

The software supports using regular expressions and simple wildcards for filtering names of design objects used by object lists. Regular expressions and wildcards are convenient for filtering lists of component names, such as when you assign component names to an object list.

The supported wildcards are the ‘?’ and ‘*’ characters, where ‘?’ matches a single character and ‘*’ matches zero or more characters. For example, A?? matches ART and A12, whereas A* matches ART, A12, A, and ART_1234.

Regular expression format is more complicated but it allows you to create more precise filters. Regular expressions use Perl syntax and are case sensitive. Table 1 lists some examples of simple regular expressions.
