How to make a bridge ?

    malgumhasan@gmail.com

      Hello There,

Previously I was using PADS 9.5, but recently my company works on PADS9.3.

While I open my previous design, its says " unable to open this project in current version".

Is there any porting between them, not PADS viewer.

      Regards

      Hasan

Starting with PADSVX, all versions are backward/forward compatible, which is not the case with PADS9.x and before.

The question is: Why going back to a previous version then ?

You need to use PADS 9.5 to create a PADS 9.3 .asc file.

In PADS 9.5 - choose 'File > Export'. Choose the 'PADS Layout V9.3' format.

In PADS 9.3 - open an empty design and choose 'File > Import' to import the file you previously created.

If you don't have PADS 9.5 - you have a problem!

            regards

            Klaus

                Dear Sir Klaus,

You need to use PADS 9.5 to create a PADS 9.3 .asc file.

In PADS 9.5 - choose 'File > Export'. Choose the 'PADS Layout V9.3' format.

                >>>Does it means PADS 9.5 is necessary to install?

In PADS 9.3 - open an empty design and choose 'File > Import' to import the file you previously created.

                >>In this way, file created in PADS9.5 can be open in 9.3?

                Regards

Yes - you need to install PADS 9.5 or newer. From there you can export to PADS 9.3 .asc format.

Yes - in PADS 9.3 you can then import the .asc file.

I am currently using PADS VX.2 so I can help creating a PADS 9.3 .asc file if you if like - and your company allows it.

                  Regards Klaus

" will visible, do you want me to chose a .asc file? I have forgot to make .asc file.

Yes, kindly create one, and explain.

                      Hi

                      Follow this procedure:

                      1) Open the file you need to convert in PADS 9.5 or newer release.

                      2) Select File > Export

                      3) The program suggests a filename and location for the .asc file. Modify if needed.

In this example I saved the file as 'preview.asc'.

                      4) In the 'ASCII Output' choose the shown selections and click 'OK'

                      5) Open PADS 9.3. Do not open a design.

                      6) Select 'File > Import'

                      7) Browse to the file you saved earlier and click 'Open'.

                      8) Now you should be able to see the design in PADS 9.3

If you still have problems I can help you converting the design for you.

                      regards Klaus
