How do you create a degree symbol when creating an angular dimension in PADS Layout? Currently using Romanism Stroke font for text. I think it's the same for dimensions text but not sure. Special control characters?
Alt 248 °
Thanks. Initially didn't work. Must use right side numeric keypad. Apparently not all numbered keys are created equal...
I am unable to get any of these special chars to work. I'm using Xpedition, but find it hard to believe that would make a difference.
What else could prevent these characters from displaying?
Nathan, I've moved your question to the Xpedition Layout community where it should get a quicker response.
I've used Expedition in prior job. Now using Layout.
Use Windows Notepad to test if holding down alt, while typing 248 (using right keypad) will produce °.
If so, then it should work in Expedition. Try different font? Not sue if Expedition uses an alternate method or not...
Thanks for the reply.
It works in Notepad, and Word, etc. but not Mentor.
I guess expedition must not have that feature. I'm holding down ALT, and using the number keypad. Nothing happens. It does not enter a character at all.
If I instead take the char from Notepad and copy/paste it into the Mentor Text Dialog, it shows up in the dialog, but not in the design.
Not sure what else to try. It's a shame it doesn't work.
Try changing the font to Courier New, it's not listed as a Gerber compatible font but seemed to work fine.
So the ALT_Number still does not work with any of 8-10 fonts I tried.
However, with Courier New and a couple others it *DID* work to copy/paste from the windows character map. This is acceptable. Good suggestion.
