    Crosstalk Coupling without IBIS models

    bgooding

I noticed IBIS models are optional for the Crosstalk Coupling rule. Does this just end up using the voltage swing, rise/fall time, etc defined in the Electrical Net Properties for each net?

If so, is there any way to assign these properties in the REF file or some other text file? It seems like it's possible to mass edit the properties by selecting multiple nets at once, but it would be nice to be able to write a script to assign these values.

          Hello Ben,

Yes, when no models are assigned, HyperLynx DRC will look at the values specified for the electrical net properties. Unfortunately, you can only use text file (eg .ref file) formats to add models to the IC and other components but not to change the net properties. The easiest way to allotting values to a large number of nets at the same time is to create separate object lists of the nets that have the same properties. In the spreadsheet window, you can hold down the control key select multiple nets at the same time and the edit the values if the properties as shown in the picture below. 1.jpg

Note: If you do have IBIS models available, the model does add the Rise Time to the Net that is being driven from the IBIS model.

          Regards and Thanks
