There is some information missing.
Can you select one of the cross reference items?
Is the property XREF or Xref Annotation?
The new property name is usually Xref Annotation, to place it in the right place everytime, add the property as a placeholder on the PORT and Link symbols. This will be the default location.
You can usually use find to find all instances of the property, and then press delete, or there is a script at https://support.mentor.com/en/knowledge-base/MG511904
I didn't have a property XREF or Xref Annotation on the symbol. I decided to add the Xref Annotation to the port symbol.
I also have to do the following Tools -> Cross Reference -> Project in order to for the Cross Reference to show up on the port.
I still stt the same file names near the port, the page numbers are missing. So, yes, some information may still be missing.
Hello, that solved by problem. Thank you .
One last question. In Designer they have added Tools->Cross Reference and Tools->Cross Reference (SCOUT). Can you please tell me what is the difference. I notice that when I run Tools->Cross Reference (SCOUT) it does not do Cross Reference on the ports on my schematic pages. In order to get the page numbers on the ports I must run Tools->Cross Reference->Project and then the page numbers will appear on my ports.
Can you comment please.
Tools Cross Reference is the new "simpler" tool, using Xref Annotation as the cross reference property.
Tools, Cross Reference SCOUT is the older script based cross reference tool, that uses an ini file for setup. It typically used XREF as the property name and that name could be placed on a symbol, or a pin, which made it difficult to tell what the parent object was.
I always do a hierarchical designs which means I use a lot of block symbols. I noticed that when I do the Tools->Cross Reference -> Project that it does not page page numbers on the block symbols. I must do the Tools, Cross Reference SCOUT. Any ideas why?
