Question: LPE extraction with top level

    andrewng

I ran two cases with same technology file, one is top level cell, another one is block level only.

However, when I ran the top level cell, there is  the following message output:

      LUMPED PARASITICS EXTRACTION

Is it caused by the database too large? The database is about 95M.

Is there anyone can help me to solve it?

Hi Andrew. Perhaps you have a licensing issue, since it says:

          Error: Fatal application licensing error

But this shouldn't cause a core dump.

I think that your rule file is missing sheet resistance for the layer ALLGATES. This design is not too large, and should not be causing a core dump. I think that it would be best if you called customer support and have them help with licensing, and send them your testcase. Alternatively, contact your foundry, and have them check the rule file that they sent you. Also, try reading the PEX ALIAS documentation in the SVRF user's manual.

          Hope this helps!

            Dear Karen,

            Thanks for your reply!

However, there is no problem when I used the same technology file and same mapping file to do LPE for a small block.

I don't know why the log file will tell me that there is missing of sheet resistance for the layers ALLGATES.

Also, for the licensing problem is the same.

I used this to run a small block and there is no problem.

Hi Andrew. For the small block, are you saying that you also get the licensing error and the warning about ALLGATES, but then the run completes? Or are you saying that you do not have any errors or warnings at all for the small block?

It might be best if you contact customer support for this and send them your testcase. You can apply for an account here:

                Dear Karen,

                Thanks for your reply!

I didn't get any errors or warnings at all for the small block which using the same technology file.

                It's very strange.

I will contact customer support for this case.

                Thanks for your comment!
