I have downloaded PADS VX2.4 viewer and I see all thestitching vias any time I open a PCB layout. Can you please advise how I candisable the stitching vias?
I believe this may be the thermal indicators "X"s that you are seeing for the vias that connect to the plane in the design. See also thread: Many visible x's with all layers of in Viewer VX.2.4
A defect has been filed regarding this issue as the thermal indicators cannot be disabled by the free PADS VX.2.4 Viewer software. If the person sending the PCB file to you modifies the design to disable the view of the thermals indicators first, then it will open up in the free PADS VX.2.4 Viewer software. The person with edit capabilities would need to go to Tools > Options > Copper Planes > Thermals and uncheck "Show general copper plane indicators".
This issue has been filed under DR 1357811 - Free PADS Layout Viewer Thermal Indicators cannot be turned off to reduce display clutter
If this is simply the Vias themselves, they can be disabled by going to Setup > Display Colors and removing the check mark from the Vias column. However, this will disable the display of both stitching vias and any vias used in routing with traces as well.
In PADS Viewer VX.2.5 it is still not possible to change the setting.
However it follows the setting from the design file.
If 'Show general copper plane indicators' is enabled when the design is saved, they will also show in the Viewer.
If 'Show general copper plane indicators' is disabled when the design is saved, they will NOT show in the Viewer.
