Do you have the following license features?
Thanks for the reply. I currently trying to figure that out. We point to a flex server and Im unsure how to check what features are enabled on that license. I'm not sure if this can be figured out locally or not. My understanding is that if the 3d view is not working and the m3d library wasn't installed that our license doesn't have the 3d support. Once i get this figured out I'll try to get back here.
This article will help you see the licenses. https://support.mentor.com/en/knowledge-base/MG505304
3D will work without the M3D library, you just need to manually import the models for each part number/cell
Trying it now.
I dont mind importing my own 3D models, that should be fine. I just need to know if 3D view works in Xpedition.
So, there are available m3dpfoutput and m3dplugin licenses on the license server we're pointing to.
Does Xpedition need some kind of inital setup before the 3D view will work in the layout tool? Or do I need to have actual associated 3D models on the components before I can generate a 3D view?
What exactly is happening? Does the 3D window open and is black, or does it not open at all?
If it doesn't open at all, somehow the 3D licenses are not being checked out by Xpedition or the 3D module was not installed.
If it's a black window, then it's often a display driver issue. If no 3D models are assigned to a component, you should simply see a 3D box over each component.

So I was pretty much an idiot. Your screen shot cleared things up for me. I simply didn't check the installation. Went back through and ran the install and got the 3d plugin. Thanks for your time. I really appreciate it.
