Can I convert a schematic from DX Designer VX2.1 back to Pads Logic 9.5? If so, how?
You can export your layout from VX to an ASCII file and import this file to 9.5. (File --> Export --> Ascii // File --> Import)
I'm not sure which controllboxes to check or uncheck within the export-GUI. I'm not sure whether the layer-definition is ex/imported so you might need to set up the layer stack agian.
Aw shoot, I should have specified schematic, not layout.
Whoops, my bad. Should have read the question more carefully ;-)
Schematics can be exported to several formats too, maybe you can find one that can be read by Logic.
One other way could be to use third party tools, but I don't know whether Logic 9.5 is able to read those formats.
Just recently I read this thread: https://communities.mentor.com/message/80983 Maybe there's a similar tool for converting Designer to Logic, so you could ask your local sales rep?
What I'm really trying to do is convert an OrCAD schematic to PadsLogic. My customer's PadsLogic seat can convert OrCAD directly but only version s 7 to 10 and I have 17. But I found that I can import my OrCAD schematic into my DXDesigner seat and make a conversion there. Then I'm at least on a Mentor Graphics platform. Then I was hoping to go from DXDesigner to PadsLogic.
In OrCAD 17 you can save your schematic in 16.2 format. After that you can import your OrCAD 16 schematic into PADS Logic.
