Each time the <central_lib> is opened the <central_lib>.dbc file is reset. All the property values, value visible and use global symbol data from central library is cleared. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?
Can someone from mentor please contact me about this bug?
I have to create a golden <name>.dbc file and every time I close "PADS Prog Library Tool VX.2.6" I overwrite the old <design.dbc> file with the golden file.
This has become very annoying for such an expensive software package.
We are aware of this and working on a fix. If you need to raise something urgently then you should contact your local customer support contact, this community is a peer-to-peer platform that is not meant for urgent issues.
Unfortunately until we get the fix out into the field you will not be able to prevent this when using VX.2.6. If you can, keep a copy of VX.2.5 installed and use this for library development.
Thank you for the reply. My support cases go to the local distributor and not mentor so there is little use opening support cases for me. It would be good if I could direct support from mentor so I am not wasting my time. I have several issues that I have been able to find work arounds for that you may or may not know about. You can contact me offline if you would like to discuss further.
I have installed Updated 1 and the issue is not fixed. Do you know when this will be fixed?
We are working on preparing a solution for an update to VX.2.6 but I cannot give an exact date at the moment.
With VX2.6 and 2.6.1 versions, in integrated flow mode, I have serious problems in Central Library management.1) The "PADS_Integrated_Library.dbc" file continues to be corrupted by "Library Tool" launched by xDX, and I find unknown Database link named "CPDB" which no longer allows me to use the Databook; currently the solution is to set the .dbc file to read only.2) Now the Component Parametric Editor of Library Tool don't save any data; all data entered in the cells is lost when the editor is closed.
When will these "small" problems to be solved?
SP2 still not fixed.
I have found that it is better not to change the permission of the <file_name>.dbc.
Instead create a copy <file_name_golden>.dbc.
After closing down PADS Library Tool replace <file_name>.dbc with <file_name_golden>.dbc.
If you need to change the configuration then do this through PAD Pro Designer.
