After many years I have dropped my support contract. How can I get Pads V 2.3 or V 2.5 to run without going in to Demo mode. My license file is still on the computer and I have a green dongle

Your ability to run PADS VX.2.3 or 2.5 depends on the version of the license file you have and whether or not it's expired. If you dropped support, the version of your PADS license is locked to your last support contract end date.
Check your license file. See if it's expired or of an old version. The fourth field is the version and the fifth field is the expiration. The following example will run software released up through Feb 2018 and until Dec 13, 2019.

2.3 was released in Feb 2018. 2.5 in Mar 2019.
If your file is out of date, you can download a new file (version still frozen) from https://account.sw.siemens.com/en-US/licenses. If it IS up to date, it may be the hardware key. PADS should be giving a license error. Be sure to expand the Details button if there is one.
