I have a PCB design. In the local library there are components that are not used in the pcb.
I want to get only those used in pcb design. How do i do that?
you can filter only the components that placed on board through Component Explorer, then use library services to export these components from PartDB to Central Library
I do not have the state column (Unplaced, placed, distributed).
Using LIBRARY services, there are other cells that were not used in the pcb.
I want to reduce the time. Instead of selecting (one by one) only the desired components, i want to copy all.
But i want to copy only the used cell.
This is the hide column by default. To display this column rmb click on the header of other columns and enable it. And using library services copy in your CL that part was have a placed marker. By default when you copy part you automatically copy a cell and symbol linked to this part.
Okay, i got it. However, when using library services still there are many cells shown. It doesnt show only the used cells.
I have more than 500 cells but I only used about 50 cells. I want to copy only the 50cells used.
I mean copy to another library.
I think that Only this way exist to do this work
What i need is the cell. Even if i copy the part, it cannot be imported unless the cell is also copied.
or is there a way that when part is copied, it also copy the cell used by that part?
As I say previously “By default when you copy part you automatically copy a cell and symbol linked to this part”
But in VX2.3, it doest copy automatically.
When I export the part to an hkp then import to the new library there is an error. It is not copied because cells are missing.
you need export directly to library. you can open your library in which you want to copy cells then run library services choose part tab and point to layout project (*.pcb) where stored local part db and then copy part by part number that have placed state on component explorer
Thank you so much, pbo! I really appreciate.
By the way, how should i open the library? Is it by using DX Designer?
I am opening the LIBRARY using PCB Layout only.
if you have library manager license than best way to open central library standalone. It depend in which library you want to import part from local db. If you need to copy part from current design to library linked to that design then you can open library services from layout but if you need to copy part from design to any another library than first open that library in standalone library manager.
You need to switch to part tab in library services and copy only part placed in design.
