I want to run Calibre signoff DRC check for the DEF that is extracted from INNOVUS. I have the GDS present for all the IP's that are used in the design.
Please let me know the correct approach for this.
Thanks in Advance
The fdi2gds tool can be used to translate your LEF/DEF to GDS and then you can run Calibre on the GDS file. You can also do direct read of the LEF/DEF in a Calibre rule file, but running fdi2oasis or fdi2gds stand-alone will help you better understand how objects are mapped and control the translation. See this section of the documentation:
Since you have the layout of the cells in GDS, you can use the -cellGDS option to merge the LEF/DEF with the GDS cells during the translation. This is an example for a hierarchical DEF and it points to a directory of GDS cells:
$CALIBRE_HOME/bin/fdi2gds -system LEFDEF \ -lef libs/lef/tech.lef libs/lef/macros.lef \ -def design/def/partitions design/def/top_level.def \ -cellGDS directory_of_gds_cells \ -logFile fdi2gds.log \ -outFile output/top_level.gds
Depending on your Calibre version, the fdi2gds tool can automatically create a mapping file between the LEF/DEF objects and GDS. You can specify your own mapping file with -map. The mapping part is very important. See these topics:
Check the documentation for your version of Calibre because the way the mapping works has been enhanced in more recent releases.
