Yes, from VeSys 2.0 Design you can exchange wiring data with NX5. Simply open your design and choose File - > Export -> Export to... there you will find the NX format.
Thanks for your reply. I do know that it is possible for NX2, NX3 and NX4. I just wanted to confirm whether it is also possible for NX5.
More for my understanding than anything else when we used to bring data into NX 2.0 there were two methods, import a .cmp and .hrn file or import the .xml. Taking a look through the drop down .cmp is available but not .hrn although there is something called "connection list for NX" which looks remarkably like the old .hrn files are they the same thing ?
They are the same thing....
Its been a while since I looked at the UG import/export for VeSys Design Classic, this exports both files the cmp and the hrn files. From memory the cmp file is the component file listing such things as connectors whereas the hrn file contains all of the wire data. I'm not sure if UG requires both of these files or whether one would suffice, theorectically only one of those files would be required (the hrn) but the cmp would give added functionality when importing data from a schematic.
