Mentor Graphics in talks to buy Israeli co Valor
Valor Computerized Systems is traded on XETRA at a market cap of $106 million.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Mentor Graphics Inc. (Nasdaq: MENT) is in talks to acquire Yavne-based productivity improvement software developer Valor Computerized Systems Ltd. (XETRA: VCR).
Valor's share fell 0.2% in early trading on XETRA today to €2.83, giving a market cap of $106 million. The share has risen 183% since the beginning of the year.

Valor's president and CEO is Dan Hoz. DS Apex Holdings Ltd. (TASE:DSAP) owns 18.8% of the company through mutual and provident funds.
The purchase price for Valor is not clear at this time, or in the wake of the jump in its share price whether shareholders will get a premium on the company's current market cap. If a deal is closed, it will be another exit by an Israeli company, one that is not listed on Wall Street.
Mentor Graphics develops electronic design automation (EDA) systems for the design, analysis and testing of electronic hardware and embedded systems software. It has a market cap of $712 million and posted $789.1 million revenue in its 2008 fiscal year, which ended in January. The company lost $88.8 million in its 2008 fiscal year, compared with a net profit of $28.8 million in its 2007 fiscal year.
