I value the bookmarking capability and use it frequently. One thing I haven't figured out is how to use coordinates saved in a bookmark so that I can see the same area in another layout.
Often I have multiple versions of a layout such as an old version and a new version, or a full chip version and a scaled down version, but the bookmarks seem to be limited to just exactly the layout file they were saved with.
How can we use a bookmark to see the same area but a differentl layout?
The bookmark feature currently only works with one layout. However, since the coordincates are logged in the bookmarks file and it's a text file, you can modify the file to apply the same coordinates to another layout.
This would be a good enhancement candidate for the future.
Have you tried "GoTo"?
The "Current" button saves the current window coordinates, which can be applied in another layout.
The "Record" button will accumulate a list of review points.
If you have a lot of points, and need the bookmark names, the following menu sequence might be useful: choose a bookmark, GoTo>Current, change layout, GoTo>Apply.
Maybe it could be made into a one-click macro.
I always have a small number of points so your workaround should be a big help.
