Unless you have an AutoCAD plugin for your web browser these will not be viewable. Many customers convert the AutoCAD dwg files into a picture format such as .emf (the most efficient) or .bmp these are then viewable in a web page, its also handy to have a picture format version of the connector graphics too as you can share them within your company to other departments.
I'll have a look to see how you are best to convert them, I have Paint Shop Pro which has a batch conversion tool I'll check how this works with DWG and maybe I could always convert them for you if necessary.
Where in Vesys classic do you save the target for the picture files of the connectors?
The connector images are normally located in the Thumbnails folder, the location of this folder is defined within the configuration editor.
I have the thumbnail path defined in Vesys config. However, the connectors are not showing up in the report, only an X appears.
The file type used is .bmp.
Could you upload a copy of the report so that I can check to see if the thumbnail image is referred to in the html?
Please review the attached connector view report.
The thumbname path in Vesys config is pointing to the correct location. All file there are named by connector part number and .bmp format.
As you can see from the report, no image is displayed.
Thank you for your help.
I've had a quick look through the html file and I cannot see any reference to a bmp file. There should be a line item that refers to the bmp file, for example:
<TH NOWRAP ALIGN=center COLSPAN=6><IMG CLASS="ConnectorPicStyle" SRC="C:\Program Files\VeSys Electrical Series\Blocks\Thumbnails\AFU3645.emf"></TH>
your file shows:
<TH NOWRAP ALIGN=center COLSPAN=8><IMG CLASS="ConnectorPicStyle" SRC=""></TH>
Interestingly my display didn't work with emf's in Google Chrome but does work in Internet Explorer (not sure if google chrome supports the display of emf's?).
Your problem seems to be that VeSys isn't writing out the location to the image. I would check the following:
- The name of the bmp file matches that of your part number i.e. 84546342.bmp
- The file is in the Thumbnails folder
- That VeSys Components can display the thumbnail in its preview window
(it might be worth clicking Setttings > Scan for thumbnails to refresh the links)
Sorry I just realized I copied/pasted the name of the harness as the example of a .bmp file name It should have been 87697647.bmp or something like that
I realize you had checked some of the suggested steps already but its worthwhile noting all of the potential areas that could cause the problem you are having.
I went into Vesys components - settings - scan for thumbnails. All the thumbnails in the library were found.
The report still does not show the .bmp
Why in the .htm is it not pointing to the correct location?
Within the report, there is not path at all?
Why is there no path specified?
This is certainly the reason no pics are being shown.

I was trying to figure out the reason why the path/filename is not included in the report. It is puzzling because VeSys can see/access the bmp's as they were found in VeSys Components whereas Harness Reports cannot, I don't think there would be a problem with the html writer because it works for many customers use this functionality and I double checked the fucntionality.
I noticed from one of your posts you appear to be a running 64bit machine, VeSys was never compiled/tested on 64bit so it is a remote possibility that there is an issue with the Harness Reports reading the x86 directory. To eliminate this as the potential problem it might be worth temporarily moving the Thumbnails folder to another directory i.e. C:\Thumbnails and see if that works.
