Camcadpro supports translate ODB++ to CC or CCZ file by command line?
It can support to translate Allegro, Gencad and EDIF to CC file by command line, but not to ODB++ as the guide where using the switch parameter '/reader=48'.
WIth the latest CCASM1.0 release of CAMCAD there was a new option added to automate CCZ file creation based on source CAD files. This allows Allegro, Expedition, Board Station, ODB++, GenCAD to be automatically converted to a CCZ file without having to start the CAMCAD GUI. Ie CAMCAD can be started as part of a batch process with the resultant CCZ file delivered at the end.
I hope that answers your question.
I known this command line for CCZ translation. The quesiton is this command line can't translae the ODB++ database. The user guide say using "/reader=48" switch parameter to translate the ODB++ source, however it seems it's not a valid paramter. Maybe the user guide have told the error number, but I don't like to try other number to make it work. Would you like to validate this?
I have tried this and it is working as expected but needs to be set up as follows:
With this source ODB++ folder uncompressed: Use the following command line:
camcad48.exe...../reader=48 /input="c:\path\odb_file_folder" /output="c:\path\odb.ccz"
Fully qualified paths need to be used and you should then get an exported ccz file of the ODB++ data file.
I try it as you mentioned and find now a cc or ccz file get outputed to unpressed ODB++ database. However, that's y a contents-empty cc/ccz file at all!
I assume you can load the ODB++ database directly in to CAMCAD already? If not then try this first. If you want to email me the ODB++ file I'll try it myself to see how it works.
Much thanks for remindering me! I have test this line command to the sample data , it works. The only cause for an empty cc/ccz file is that CAMCAD 4.8 can't load the database at all,so translation crashed. The database is ok and can be read into Valor's Trilogy 5000 7.6 and 8.0 even CAM350 8.X, also the database is outputed from Expeditionpcb 2007.2. Late, I will check more ODB++ and email to you with something I found.
Thank again for you help to get it clear.
I would like to know the benifit of cc or ccz file ? Where it comes the requirement? Appreciate the quick answer.
Thanks and Regards
The content of a CC and CCZ file is identical. The only difference between the two is that the CC file is uncompressed and the CCZ file uses a standard compression zip to give an approximate 15:1 reduction in file size.
