What exactly ICT Viewer is?
how can i make use of it.
The ICT Viewer gives you a tabular view of your schematic design, you can view components/nets in a flat or hierarchical view and sort by properties etc. It provides similar functionality to that provided by Project Navigator Contents in 2005.3 and earlier versions of DxDesigner if you are familiar with that version. You can configure what is shown in the ICT Viewer from the Settings dialog.
Is it like we can only view the properties, or we can add and edit the content.
Currently it is a 'viewer' only so you have to edit properties in the Properties dialog.
Is there a way to control the order of the columns other than alphabetic or reverse alphabetic? Can I create an .ini or .cgf file to direct ICT Viewer how and in what order to display things?
ICT Viewer allows you hidding columns you don't want to see and changing the column order by drag&drop. Once set up according to what you need, the information is persistent.
What flow and version are you using? I cannot drop and drag column order. The columns that are turned off are in the DxDesigner.xml file found in my local WDIR. I see nothing in it about the columns left on. I am in PADS9.1 flow.
I am in 2007.8 and the flow (Expedition or Netlist) should not matter. Do you see an ICTsLayouts.xml file in your WDIR? Which version of the tool do you use?
I do have a ICTLayouts.xml file in the WDIR. I cannot find any specific information on the ICTviewer vesion other than two dll files. Right clicking the ICT Viewer placement handle and selecting Properties does not display any results.
Ict2DxStructs70.dll is dated 12-10-2009
ICT2Sch70.dll is dated 12-16-2009
both of these found in the \9.1PDAS\SDD_HOME\common\win32\lib folder.
This is weird. I would recommend you to wipe away your ICTsLayouts.xml file (keep a copy) and try again. If it still does not work maybe you can try to start from a fresh WDIR directory (keep also a copy). Please let me know what happens.
