    Design verification

    m0khz

Hi to the group, I'm a new user to PADS (9.1) migrating from Eagle, I've recently finished a 6 layer design and have started the design verification - Tools>Verify Design...

If I select 'Clearance' in PADS 9.1 the verification only runs on the visable part of the design, is this intentional?

If I select say 'Connectivity' the verification runs on the entire design and not just the visable part?

I would expect consistancy in how the rules are applied, am I missing something here?

      Regards

      Kevin

          Hi Kevin

Yes - the clearance check only runs for the visible part of the design. This is actually very useful.

If you have lots of errors on the whole board, you can zoom into a specific area just to investigate this part of of the design.

You're right - connectivity runs for the whole design.

Yes - you can say that this is inconsistent, but it has been like this for years, and it is no problem in daily use.

          regards
