    page number and page total attribute annotation

    cvanderaar

      Hi,

      Because I prefer the hierarchical design drawing method for designs containing multiple sheets the standard attributes @SHEET and @SHEETTOTAL don't work for me (we use PADS 9.0.2).

      Therefore I try to define a standard scout.ini file to perform an automatic sheetnumbering of the hierarchical design.

      For me this works fine but I would like to have the page number and page total separated in my border (in our company border we have 2 separate fields for page number and page total).

      Therefore I defined the following settings in my scout.ini file:

      | tag border component with sheet location info. within block
      direct_reference
          attr any a1sheet_mycompany.1 comp_attr any 20.60,2.50 lower_left
          format_entry "$page_num"
          format_attr_vis value_visible
          format_attr_size 0.12
      end

      direct_reference
          attr any a1sheet_mycompany.1 comp_attr any 20.60,2.18 lower_left
          format_entry "$page_total"
          format_attr_vis value_visible
          format_attr_size 0.12
      end

      However when I scout my design only the total page value is visible in my border and the page number seems to be disappeared or overwritten. When I remove the second part (for page total) then the page number value is visible. I can combine the attributes in one line like SHEET $page_num of $page_total (this works fine) but in fact this is not want I want.

      Is there a possibility to have the page number and page total values separated in the border?

            What I think you are missing is the format prefix entry.  This format prefix entry is the name of the property.  So here is what I would do. .Create two properties one for the $page_num and one for $page_total.  For example PAGE and PAGETOTAL.  Add these two properties in the property defintions (netlist.prp).  In the scout.ini file you have these two commands:

            ============================================================

            | tag border component with sheet location info. within block
            direct_reference
                attr any a1sheet_mycompany.1 comp_attr any 20.60,2.50 lower_left
                format_entry "$page_num"
                format_attr_vis value_visible
                format_attr_size 0.12
            end

            direct_reference
                attr any a1sheet_mycompany.1 comp_attr any 20.60,2.18 lower_left
                format_entry "$page_total"
                format_attr_vis value_visible
                format_attr_size 0.12
            end

            ============================================================

            Make the changes like this

            ============================================================

            | tag border component with sheet location info. within block
            direct_reference
                attr any a1sheet_mycompany.1 comp_attr any 20.60,2.50 lower_left
                format_prefix "PAGE"

                format_entry "$page_num"
                format_attr_vis value_visible
                format_attr_size 0.12
            end

            direct_reference
                attr any a1sheet_mycompany.1 comp_attr any 20.60,2.18 lower_left

                format_prefix "PAGETOTAL"
                format_entry "$page_total"
                format_attr_vis value_visible
                format_attr_size 0.12
            end

            =================================================================

            I hope this helps.
