As far as I know, you cannot get to this information from within dxdesigner.
However.. (assuming you are talking about the EE7.9 or 2007.x release)
NSE, the (new symbol editor) also has an automation layer, not vbs though, it is in tcl.
With this it is possible to get to the info you need.
The manual you want to read is in the software tree under docs/pdfdocs and is called: dxd_symbol_editor.pdf
symbolname is Component.SymbolBlock.GetName(SHORT_NAME) and the number is Component.SymbolBlock.SheetNum

They symbols are actually ascii files. They are located under the SymbolLibs directory in the library. The syntax is very cryptic, so you will need some help decoding it. See the attached documents.
You can get anything about the symbol you want from this.
