When to use "Extract frequency response from PRBS simulation" in FastEye Channel Analyzer.

When use FastEye to simulate, it will give different results w/o using "Extract frequency response from PRBS simulation".

In FastEye, there are two channel response, one is "Extract frequency response from PRBS simulation" in Figure 1, another is "Pulse and step waveforms" in Figure 2. For example, when I simulate the QDR2+ SRAM (data speed is 1.1Gbps, point to point connection), the valid eye width is 386ps when using "Extract...", iwhen using"Pulse and..." the valid eye width is 428ps.

So when will we need to use "Extract frequency response from PRBS simulation"? and when will we need to use "ulse and step waveforms" ? How to use them? What are differences between them?
