I am confused as to the application of this? Is this to calculate a target impedance for a differential pair that is routed on layer directly above or below another differential pair? or Is the purpose to calculate the differential impedance of the P- channel being routed on one layer and the N-channel routed on the layer below it?
This technote just explains how to set up a coupling region in LineSim to analyze differential pairs when routed over-under, the two traces in different layers with one directly above the other. Normally, differential pairs are routed side by side.
