Pasting exported board layouts in AutoCAD causing errors

(Using PADS Layout, multiple versions) I have 2 separate boards that are going to be stacked on top of each other. I have completed the layout of each board and I need to export to a .dxf/.dwg for both record keeping purposes and design verification. What I have done is exported the two boards into separate .dxfs. I want to make sure the align correctly and the quickest way is to paste both of the drawings into one .dxf and drag one drawing on top of the other, aligning the mounting holes.

The problem is this: When I paste drawing A into drawing B, drawing A is completely messed up. Parts are misalinged, rotated, filled incorrectly, etc. The same if I paste drawing B into drawing A, then drawing B is 'messed up'. The workaround has been to open the part in something like Camtastic and export from there. I definitely want to get rid of this extra step but have been unable to finda  solution. Any thoughts?
