What type of packet framing does Nucleus NET Support?

Discussion created by dan_schiro on Aug 6, 2012

Nucleus NET only supports one version of framing, the Ethernet II version.

You could add support for any other framing standard such as 802.3. Examine the following routines:

NET 5.1:
in NET.C
NET_Ether_Send()
         - adds the header and calls the low level driver output
NET_Ether_Input()
        - removes the header and starts the processing on the RX frame.

NET 5.2 and later:

in eth.c

ETH_Ether_Send()

        - adds the header and calls the low level driver output

ETH_Ether_Input()

       - removes the header and starts the processing on the RX frame.
