Why do you say visECAD is not a useful tool for review?
I have only looked at it for an hour or so, but it looks powerful.
(or, were you saying visECAD itself is too expensive?)
to me it is both.
It is indeed powerful but the question is dos it need to be that powerful if it is just a viewer.
The look of it is totally different to the rest of Expedition which I find difficult to adopt.
and I think it is to expensive for a Viewer.
VisEcad as a view and review tool has the advantage of not requiring Native tool data. The encrypted format of the data allows for offsite review without providing IP specific data. This alone has made this a very popular review tool for engineers.
I also find it interesting that you find that VisEcad is "too expensive", since the license can be obtained for free at:
Thanks for the link I know the free Viewer which is fine I always recommend it to our customers if I am sending data to a extern.
Our Prototype workshop for example need to viewing Schematic and layout at once and as cross probing. The same counts for engineers which do the Layout reviews.
The free Viewer dos not bring this possibility.
That was why I asked "how do you do your Layout reviews ?" it seems as we do something wrong.
What tool would you recommend to do Layout reviews ?

So in the past for me, the free VisEcad viewer was used for external reviews, as you seem to use it.
Internally we had a site license for VisEcad also. You may want to check the price on this with your Mentor Representative.
But there is another option for internal review. Have you tried the Embedded CCE viewers within xDX and xPCB Layout? If your engineers are already using xDX, then they can cross probe to the board through the embedded PCB view without using a PCB license, and in reverse for the board to schematic. This is a great capability for internal review usage without taking up additional licenses.
Here is a screen shot for the embedded view in xDX:
I will check it out
(no useful content, just wanted to say)
I didn't know it could do that!
